As you know it is Emerging Talent Month here at lovely Buzznet land! I have been on the prowl for incredible new talent of all kinds and luckily due to my friends…have had NO problem at all. I was introduced to a very talented artist who goes by the name of HUDSON that you NEED to check out!
HUDSON has been writing music since he was only 12 years old and now is a man of many talents including acting, playing guitar, piano and even dance…impressive right?! When I first listened to his newest single "Chained", I was hooked immediately and had it on repeat. He has an incredible range and a unique rasp that you can't get enough of, it's that perfect top down wind in your hair kind of music.
I of course didn't want to leave it at a song review…here is an interview we did so you all can get to know just who HUDSON really is behind the music…enjoy!
If you could describe your music in 3 words, what would they be?
HUDSON: Americana. Edgy. Passionate.
When and how did you first realize you had a love for music?
HUDSON: The 8th grade, I had a few months of guitar lessons and then just had this awful day. Nothing was right, all was wrong- one of those. I came home and started playing the few chords I knew and without even knowing what was going on, the sheer emotion of the day just started coming out via song. I wont try and tell you my first song was magic or anything, because it wasn't. If I remember right, I don't even think some of what I said were actual words, hah. But yea, that's when I knew I loved music, because it was such a natural and easy way to express how I feel.
Who has been your biggest influence throughout your music career?
HUDSON: I would have to say the one person who I've been most influenced by is Johnny Cash. The way he connected with his audiences, his real and raw lyrics and his passion for people were always things I've admired over the years. I'll be a very happy man if I have half the career he did.
What is one song from 2013 so far you wish you wrote?
HUDSON: "THRIFT SHOP", that song is bananas. Hilarious and smart- best combo.
If you could put together your dream tour, who would be on it?
HUDSON: U2, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Kings of Leon, and little ole' me.
What are your main goals for 2013?
HUDSON: My main goals for this year are BIG, but achievable. Get "Chained" on Billboard Hot 100 (preferably #1), release the full length album The Revolution by June, play a show in at least 25 out of the 50 states and 2 out of country, and get my non profit organization up and running.
Any last words or advice for your fans and the readers?
HUDSON: THANK YOU for reading, listening, taking a moment to see what up. Filming the "Chained" music video in SanFrancisco right this very moment, can't wait for everyone to see it on Youtube March 21st.
Now Buzzers who do YOU want to see next in the Emerging Talent Group?
